Looking back over the past five years, it’s funny to think back to where I thought I’d be at this time. Five years ago, I was finishing up my senior year at Cornell University in Upstate New York. I was applying to graduate programs and daydreaming about the life ahead of me.
Fast forward to now. Things certainly aren’t the way I had dreamt them to be. But that’s not to say it’s a bad thing! In many, many ways life is better than what I had imagined. For instance, little did I think that I’d be living in Chicago in a house with my husband and a dog. Little did I know that I’d be pursuing photography while working a full-time job in healthcare.
Little did I know that I’d be living a mere six blocks away from my older brother (and his wife) in a city that is not our hometown. Little did I know that I would be photographing them for their Christmas card. And that’s just what I did last Friday in a quick mini session with my brother and his wife (and dog and little one on the way)
I’d say it was a success. I can smell a Christmas card a-brewin’!
